Gloria Grace is all about inspiration and discovery...
Gloria Gleason was a consummate hostess making everyone around her feel special. As a girl, she taught me how to make things by hand -- from baking to sewing.
Mary Grace Ritter is a true independent spirit who taught me to appreciate the small details in life, art and fashion, and helped me develop a taste for the unique.
My grandmothers influenced my sense of style and appreciation for craftsmanship. When I decided to launch this business, I wanted to infuse it with their love of entertaining and design, their sense of discovery and value of tradition. It was with this in mind that Gloria Grace was born.
I spent the past decade in the fashion industry, but have always been most passionate about discovering independent designers and learning about their creative process. My hope is to support the artists making today's modern heirlooms by bringing their products to a larger audience and helping to tell their story. It is that thrilling sense of discovery that motivated me to found Gloria Grace.
The items in this store have been (mostly) handmade by artists from the U.S. and across the globe. As I explored and fell for these pieces, I found that I didn't just connect with the ceramics and textiles -- I really loved hearing about the stories behind them. The artists and their work have inspired me -- and I hope they will inspire you too.
